I am artist who loves to travel to far away places and experience other cultures. My inspiration is powered by these experiences. However, C.S. Lewis says it well when he states: "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." Bring on the fire

How amazing it is that all of our good things, treasures, and pleasures are only temporary.  The only thing that we can have or experience which will be taken into eternity are the refining work of the holy spirit in our lives.  When we let go completely and allow him to work, he will.  Those changes connect us to eternity.  The growth (becoming more and more like him) is a concomitant of his work in our lives once we release that control.  That work is the only thing that we will carry into eternity!  If I live at the gym in preparation for an upcoming triathlon, I may be making deliberate changes to my body so that I can successfully run a race.  However, those changes will not last.  I can dive into the study of geology so that I will not be fooled into buying an ersatz representation of a Tanzanite when I finally make the trek to Tanzania.  That knowledge will not last.  Only becoming more and more like our Lord… the refining work of the Holy Spirit in our lives… only that will last.

Let’s go to him with empty hands.  What is he prodding me to let go of?  I know exactly what those things are.  I’m jumping!

Loved the Osy this morning
