I am artist who loves to travel to far away places and experience other cultures. My inspiration is powered by these experiences. However, C.S. Lewis says it well when he states: "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." Homey silence

Silence can be cold and deafening when you are completely alone.  However, I have found that sometimes silence can be solacing and can even revivify me in the still moments, late at night or early in the morning, when the presence of others is distant yet palpable.
Thursday night, I retired to my humble abode after a wonderful evening, fully aware that I would be the only creature stirring in a dark and silent house.  My two sweet slumbering Katies were cozily “tuckled up” in their beds upstairs.  It was awesome that even in the dark silence, I felt so warm and joyful knowing that my friends were there, safe, sound and dreaming of my recent chocolaty culinary triumphs which they would be enjoying in the morning (thanks to the emollient power of milk or coffee to soften rock hard cookies)  I felt “The Walton’s” theme song threatening me with its stuck-in-your-head-for-days-ness, but I pushed back the cheesiness and went to bed myself.
