My inspiration is powered by these experiences.
However, C.S. Lewis says it well when he states:

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”

This video was made in the Antwerp , Belgium Central (Train) Station on
March 23, 2009, with no warning to the passengers passing through the
station. At 8:00 am a recording of Julie Andrews singing ‘Do, Re, Mi’
begins to play on the public address system.
As the bemused passengers watch in amazement, some 200 dancers begin to
appear from the crowd and station entrances.
They created this amazing stunt with just two rehearsals!
Enjoy!

Bring on the Trouble

“It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to live the noble life of a disciple of Jesus in...

Shut'n de do'

He will satisfy. When I snap out of my “He-will-satisfy” amnesia, and get rid of the...

full

How do we hand over everything, every relationship to him? To identify with his interest in others...

Bring on the fire

How amazing it is that all of our good things, treasures, and pleasures are only temporary. The...

Givin em somethin I can fe-eel....

Today I am changing the song lyrics “Givin him somethin he can fe-eel” to “Givin...

The fight

Osy was so awesome today.

Reasons why I am having violent thoughts...

TO KILL A BACKYARD BIRD

Reasons why I am having violent thoughts about the little creatures who reside in my fig tree:

1. I have never heard anything like this squawking. I really feel as if they have somehow found tiny little microphones. This morning, I was trying to ignore their relentless yapping. However, my eyes popped open when I heard something that sounded like (I could have sworn) “Another one bites the dust”! Maybe the little fella was having a premonition regarding his future… that is if he doesn’t stifle soon.

2. They eat my pretty figs!

3. They begin their music at 5 am

Ok ok, I will never hurt these little guys, as I absolutely love birds. I just wanted a little sympathy this morning ;) I’m going to sit out on my back porch with my coffee to sing a little ditty. If you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em.

Coffee jig

Coffee jig: I was trying to think how I could express the pleasure that I just found in my wonderful...

God’s wild heart and mind for his children
So, the...

God’s wild heart and mind for his children

So, the Gathering last night, Tozer this morning, and a gorgeous rock that I procured on my recent travels have generated many morning thoughts which I am about to ramble on about :)

I have been fascinated by the Labradorite lately. It has me thinking of this:
Everyone has different tastes which can be telling of their personalities/characters. I know a couple who’s home is a pastel explosion. Very muted colors. I’m talking we’re-having-a-baby-boy-blue couches with Easter egg yellow chairs and light pink rugs :) (There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with this. Different strokes for different folks…)
They are quiet, conservative, very introverted.
Looking at the explosive colors which illuminate the Laboradorite and marveling at a Creator who could conceive of such a thing when nothing but darkness encapsulates him…
I learn so much about his character. He is far from quiet. His plan of redemption for creation, which moans and groans for it, must be far from quiet. His LOVE for is is far from quiet. It is wild, colorful, and powerful.
The intricate cave interiors that I was able to see in France ignited such a desire within me to interact with nature on some intimate level. As we wandered deeper and deeper into the caves, we were able to see primitive man’s response to that desire, as they painted forms on the cave walls. C.S.L. says, “Nature has that in her which compels us to invent giants.” We CAN enjoy all that he made now and look forward with excitement and anticipation for a day when it is so glorious that our human minds at present cannot begin to fathom.

Tim Keller said that “Nobody has a better motivation to be playful” than people who know that God made the earth and made it good. We can take that mentality and apply it to our time, our relationships, our workplaces. As my friend Garrett spoke about last night, one does not have to be artistically inclined to be creative with his or her living, loving, or working. Knowing that we are made in the image of a creator, a God who paints beauty into existence, inspires innate creativity that can manifest itself in so many different ways.

Tim Stafford writes that “Keller poses the question ‘why does nature move everybody?’ Why may even the most hardened atheist find that a forest dawn prompts tears, laughter, or joy? Keller dismisses explanations offered by evolutionary psychology and suggests that we are moved as we sense creation’s song of praise to its Creator, a glorious fulfillment of its God-given nature. We are moved, Keller says, because we wish to join that chorus and cannot. He points to the Cross as the way by which we can regain that song.”

Let’s enjoy and “play” with his creation at present. Let’s do this while allowing the realization that the earth is still in a state of growing pains cause us to be inspired by it, make beauty with our living, but all the while longing for eternity when all is redeemed!

Let it move us directly into Christ’s embrace!

Here’s the link for the wonderful word from Tozer
